Lee, the owner of Genesis Retreat, educates visitors by taking them on a tour of the village, where you get to see the tortilla maker's home (she makes 200 a day just for her own family), and we all got a try at rolling and forming the tortillas. They are then cooked on an open fire in the home. Next we visited the seamstress, who makes beautifully embroidered dresses, shirts, table cloths and tortilla warmers. Last was the hammock makers, of whom there are many in this town, and you could take a hand at the loom, learn how to properly hang a hammock, and of course buy any of the ones that were finished.
