We gave each other massages at the Jungle Spa, to be enjoyed very soon, and even though the pics without the flash are a little dark, they convey more of the magical atmosphere of our first Christmas in our casa in Puerto Morelos.

Christmas dinner at home.
We gave each other massages at the Jungle Spa, to be enjoyed very soon, and even though the pics without the flash are a little dark, they convey more of the magical atmosphere of our first Christmas in our casa in Puerto Morelos.
Pool update!!!
It was almost a month to the day for the pool construction, and we are still dusting concrete dust from our house, but it has all been worth it!
Christmas downtown
The local police office and municipal building was beautifully decorated, complete with huge nativity scene and tree.
In the town square, the bandstand had a modern nativity and tree - the whole town is very festive!

the extremes in PM
A couple of days earlier, at the bookstore, we had one of those amazing tropical rain storms that comes out of nowhere, rains like crazy, and then changes back to hot and sunny within the hour. You can see how hard it is raining in the square by noting the rain bouncing off the green bleachers on the right.
Merry Christmas on Calle Galeon! Here is our wee casa gate all decked out for the holidays!

A Cancun evening
The poster advertises the nativity display and contest and while Yoli did not win for her nativity (it all had to be made out of natural ingredients, and hers is made out of plasticene) she was very happy to win an award for her town scene, and next year they will have an "open" category, in which her plasticene will no doubt win.

Another pool update

Sadly, on this Sunday morning, now that we have started painting the exterior, there is a leak happening........ :-( Both the cement and plumbing contractors came first thing to check things out and are replacing 2 of the circulating jets and will be back Monday and Tuesday to check on the cement integrity. They assure us it will all be fine soon.
Marg, you asked about the size - it is 4 metres long and 2.5 metres wide. At the shallow end it is 60 cm and 130 at the deep end (basically 7 ft X 12 ft, 2 ft and just over 4 ft). Just enough to slide in, cool off and enjoy! I have already designed a water aerobic program,(thanks to the web) so we will crank up some tunes and get some exercise every day to boot!!!
Santa Claus!
Afterwards, a large group of children dressed in traditional outfits, did several dances in the square for all those who gathered to see.
There were all ages, from teenagers right down to the wee one in the last photo. Very sweet.
