Life in Puerto Morelos

You never know what you will see on the streets of Villa Morelos, the Mexican neighbourhood in which we live. On the way home the other day, here were 3 horsemen going down the road on their way home. If you can't afford a car, well.......here is a great alternative.

Last evening our friends Daisy and Denis dropped over for a drink and a visit, bearing a huge pointsettia, which is called noche buena here (good night, re the night JC was born). As we were visiting, there was suddenly children singing at our gate, and going out to meet them, it turns out it was sort of a Guadelupe trick or treat! The Virgin Guadalupe celebration on Dec. 12 is almost as big as Christmas in Mexico, and these kids had a decorated palm frond with a picture of The Lady, candles and a change pot, into which we dropped a few pesos. Very sweet!

Dafni at the computer working on the blog in our little dining room crowded with stuff during this construction phase. Rauol tells us the pool will be done on Sunday :-) after which we still need to paint on the sealer, then paint the exterior of the pool before we can fill it up and try it out.
